Introduction

Seita B.V. (“Seita,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our services. By accessing or using our services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Why We Collect Data

Seita operates a computational platform (Software as a Service) that optimizes energy data flows behind the meter for our users and/or their clients. To achieve this, we model assets, read meter data, and forecast future energy consumption and production. The data we collect enables us to provide accurate predictions and optimizations to improve energy efficiency.

We may collect information about you in various ways, including:

  • Personal Data: Information such as your name, address, email address, and telephone number that you voluntarily provide when you contact us or use our services.
  • Metering Data: Information from your smart meter or large consumption meter, including meter ID, EAN code, current readings, daily readings, and interval readings.
  • Derivative Data: Information our servers automatically collect when you access our website, such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, and pages viewed directly before and after accessing the website.
  • Financial Data: Information related to your payment method (e.g., valid credit card number, card brand, expiration date) that we may collect when you purchase, order, return, exchange, or request information about our services.

  • By Law or to Protect Rights: If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal processes, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others.
  • Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, such as payment processing, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and marketing assistance. We do not send your metering data to third parties, as we do our data analysis in-house (if we change this, we will update this policy accordingly). When sharing data with third-party service providers, we will anonymize user data whenever possible.
  • Business Transfers: We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.

Seita and its partners (see below) processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Dutch data privacy laws.
