Cloud EMS

Make it happen – add intelligence to every-day’s operation.

Every day is a little different on your customer sites, the grid and the markets. What if your automation would get smarter?
The same logic we use in optimizing the Seita Simulations is also available to you in live operation, to compute the best schedules every day. With our FlexMeasures platform, we will model your building and assets in real-time conditions, and ensure the optimal outcomes which you see in the simulations for real.

What is a “cloud EMS”? Well, our EMS service adds intelligence to an existing on-the-ground automation solution, like a building energy management system (BEMS) or a smart gateway. The industry now begins to distinguish these systems with the terms “on-site EMS” and “cloud EMS”. Both are tough to get right, and together they form the modern EMS approach of the future.

Features

  • The features from Seita Simulations apply here as well: Batteries, EV charging, solar, dynamic tariffs (EPEX), limited grid connection etc
  • Compute new schedules multiple times per day
  • Add a new site in our online form yourself (coming soon!)
  • We enrich necessary live data on the platform, like the dynamic tariffs
  • Easily check the connectivity status of all relevant data per site
  • Replay any time frame in our deep-dive data view, to see how forecasts lead to schedules
  • Review daily and monthly totals of usage and crucial totals (coming soon!)
  • Ability to change various parameters in the UI, e.g. battery limits (coming soon!)
We are building partnerships with smart gateway vendors like WithTheGrid and Dijkman, and there are also possibilities to build integrations with existing building control systems.

Example case: Vehicle-to-grid control

We operate the batteries of more than ten Nissan Leafs, each in their own building, with our FlexMeasures platform. The local control (on-site EMS) has also been co-developed by us in an innovation project. The cars charge & discharge to be ready for user-defined set points (e.g. for longer rides), keep the battery within user-defined limits (e.g. 20%-80%) and otherwise optimize economic results from the dynamic tariff (spot market prices).

How does it work?

Seita offers channel partners the following journey to implement an intelligent real-time orchestration of their sites.

Note: It takes care to go live, and to understand all communication aspects between the site and our platform. We have your back, also when results are in and you wonder what happened and what else is possible. To make this work, we look for establishing a collaboration where we define together the types of sites you need to run, and then scale that service with you across sites.

1. First Site

  • Transfer a Seita Simulation-case into a Seita EMS site
  • Or: fill in New-Site form
  • A new account has 4 users included

2. Workshop (2h)

  • Flex modeling
  • API Usage
  • Troubleshooting (e.g. status)
  • Understanding reports

3. Go Live

  • 1 Data Connectivity session
  • 4h troubleshooting included
  • 4 schedules / day / site

4. Support

  • Quarterly joint review (1h)
  • 2nd line support (<1d response)
  • Status page per site
  • Deep dive Dashboard
  • Data export
Optional packages: Custom projects for integrating with local gateway or building automation systems & training for potential open source hand-over project (FlexMeasures is open source). These are handled on case-by-case basis.
