The planning challenge: How to charge cars which are waiting at a charging station? Municipalities want to ensure adequate availability of charge points, use of renewable energy and reduce peaks on the grid. The uncertainty: Arrival and departure times of cars, and often energy prices, are largely unknown.
Seita developed a board game and digital prototype to let stakeholders interactively discover the ins and outs of different smart charging scenarios.
The game, which is available online, was developed during a hackathon hosted by the City of Rotterdam and operator ENGIE, as part of the Smart Charging Challenge.
