The uptake of electric vehicles can be a source of concern for municipalities. Integrating a network of charging stations in a city requires careful optimisation for multiple objectives, such as: adequate availability of charge points, use of renewable energy, efficient use of charge points (discouraging parking without charging), and energy storage services. Seita developed a board game and digital prototype to let stakeholders interactively discover the ins and outs of different smart charging scenarios. The game was developed for the hackathon challenge by the City of Rotterdam and operator ENGIE, as part of the Smart Charging Challenge. The game is available online.
