Ard adds a calendar item for his Nissan Leaf car on his phone, … suspended silence…
“Click”
The Quasar EV charger springs into action and charges Ard’s Nissan Leaf, in expectation of him needing the car soon. The needles on our HomeAssistant app are switching, as well.
Smiles all around. Our first demonstration of the V2G@Home app is a success!
Of course, our biggest design goal is that the user is doing nothing at all, most of the time. Our living lab should enable vehicle-to-grid charging at home ― optimized for dynamic prices as well as local generation.
An It-Just-Works user experience!
So Ard removes the calendar item.
“Click”.
The system goes back to discharging, feeding power back to the grid, where the price is high right now.
Where do we stand now? We set out to see what is possible for a small team at the current forefront of clean tech. Learning by doing. We are happy to see the combination of all this cutting edge technology starting to work in a home setting: Wallbox Quasar, FlexMeasures by Seita BV, Home Assistant, Aurum Metering.
We will host some more demos in small outdoor settings as we further improve the V2G@Home living lab technology. Are you interested in joining, to see what’s possible and to discuss where V2G is going? The next demo is January 21 (Friday afternoon) 2022 in Utrecht. You are welcome!
